Your mind is not the prison – the ideas you willingly accept are the prison

“There is less going on today than there was yesterday.” This is your approach because if you choose an alternative line of thinking you’re going to start the day with anxiety rather than calm cool collected-ness. This life is not about tricking your mind, it’s about using your mind and being proactive with how you operate in this world. Too often you feel as though you are at the mercy of what resides and repeats in your brain. You are not a prisoner in your own mind, you are the operator that dictates what is stated, what is processed, and what is felt by your analytical, emotional, and physical self.

In a less-abstract statement: Be clear about what you want. Many, as we have stated, will make the claim that “I do this already” but often this is stated when you are oblivious to your own voice, your own inner punisher – the voice that belittles and berates you when you don’t live up to your own, or society’s own, self-imposed standard. The standards imposed upon you, or that you accept willingly without critical evaluation are very subjective and are placed upon the largest groups, not necessarily assisting the individual in any area other than promoting a greater sense of anxiety or depression because of internal conflict.

The world is not black and white. Your thoughts are not your dictator. You dictate the thought, you dictate your reaction. React as you choose, color your world as many shades as you can find. You are not required to follow popular or peer opinion.
