Legato Strokes
with Jason Karuza
Beverly Hills High School Drumline
Prior to Jason's arrival to BHHS there were no percussion staff for the students. Since he has joined the educational staff the percussion section has grown in size and in talent!
Jason has marched with UCLA, Impusle, Pacific Crest, and Esperanza's indoor ensemble.
Legato strokes are often over played, not played in a relaxed manner, or generally played as a staccato stroke, where a drummer will control every movement of the stick instead of allowing the drum to work for you, creating a nice, even, relaxed, and consistent sound and stroke.
