Step One - Download A Youtube Video

First, go to the video. Go to the page where you can watch it. You need the video's location. To be sure you don't mess up something simple here is an example: you enter this into the search box, "drumline 99 walk this way" and choose the first video that comes up. The video's location/link/url is this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AR1iUHkhIfE
Now copy this link, if you don't know what that is just type it all out later.

Step Two

Go to Down this Video and paste or enter your video's link/location/url into the box, now click the download button. You should now see a button or box at the bottom that says "Download flv." Click this box and save the file or right click and save target.

Good Job!

You just downloaded your favorite Youtube video as a flash video. If you have a media player capable of playing flash without breaking your computer you don't have to do anything else, just play it!
If you want a free media player that will player almost every media file EVER, including flash and DVDs, you want to download Media Player Classic. This player can handle quick time movies, windows media files, and much more and doesn't take years to open or eat up a bunch of your computer's resources. There are no strange programs hidden in MPC, you don't have to worry about getting popups or any other virus after you use it.

Want audio or a specific video format?

If you would like to convert this video to an audio file or more common video format (for your zune, ipod, windows media player, etc.) go to the next step.
